What We Believe
East Side Christian Church believes the following:
- We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our only authority for faith and practice.
- We believe in a loving God who created this universe, and who has provided salvation through the blood of his Son at Calvary.
- We believe that one is saved through faith, repentance, confession of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, and baptism, as was practiced in New Testament conversions.
- We believe in observing the Lord’s Supper (Communion) each Lord’s day, as was the practice of first century Christianity.
- We believe the church is the caring and sharing institution of God, and that every Christian should be an active part of the local congregation.
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God who comes at salvation, and who helps us bear the fruit of the Spirit.
- We believe that Christian unity is a goal to be pursued through the truth of God’s Word.
